Introduction

Safe Surgical Aid, along with our esteemed partners United Hands Relief and Development (UHR) and Human Development Fund (HDF), proudly announces the successful completion of our Free Cataract Surgery Camp held at Daadab Sub County Hospital from July 10th to 16th, 2024.

This initiative targeted cataracts, one of the leading causes of blindness in underserved communities.

What Are Cataracts?

Cataracts cloud the eye’s lens, gradually impairing vision and reducing quality of life. In regions with limited access to specialized care, this condition often goes untreated.

Recognizing this urgent need, SSAID, UHR, and HDF united to deliver life-changing surgeries — completely free of charge.

Impact

Over the course of the week, volunteer ophthalmologists, nurses, and support staff performed [insert number] cataract surgeries using modern equipment. The restored vision empowers patients to:

  • Read and write again
  • Move independently
  • Reconnect with loved ones
  • Return to work and school

Collaboration for Change

This camp would not have been possible without:

  • The dedication of our medical volunteers
  • The courage of patients who trusted us with their care

Together, we changed lives and brought hope.
