Eye Camp In Modogashe, October 2022
It was our second Eye Camp visit to Madogashe Sub- County Hospital in 2022. Madogashe is a small remote village in Kenya that is part of Garissa County neighboring several other villages that are part of Isiolo and wajir counties in the North eastern part of Kenya. The Cataract mission was sponsored by Relief Organization of East Africa that was implemented by SAFE SURGICAL AID.
The Cataract Camp was preceded by one (1) month of screening and preparing the patients and Three (3) days of surgeries that started on 27thOctober 2022 and ended on 30th October 2022. The eye camp attracted approximately 410 patients from across the villages out of which 150 of them got operated after thorough screening was done while 260 were given medications and advised on further follow up at the Sub-County Hospital.
