Cleft Lip and Palate Repair Mission in Wajir (Feb 2022)

Camp Summary

Safe surgical Aid had a cleft lip and palate repair, surgical camp that was sponsored by United Hands Relief (UHR) an American charity organization based in USA, that took place in Wajir county referral Hospital for a period of 1 week that saw more than 40 clients benefit from the camp led by Dr. Peter Oduor, Nakuru County based veteran in reconstructive surgery that is highly celebrated and gifted in his reconstructive skills and lead nurse madam Rachel Kangogo. Wajir County does not have a resident reconstructive surgery of its own and has stayed many seasons without such outreach programs reaching them.

Our arrival was seen as a joyous daybreak for both the children and adults who have lived with such amenable congenital anomalies ranging between 2 years to

29 years age bracket. The visit strengthened our resolve to do more on such programs through our program dubbed Smile Aid that focuses on people living with such anomalies.

We aim to work with anyone that has similar mission of restoring hope and confidence in the global society.
